How wallet payments, rentals, and payouts work on BookShare

Everything Runs Through Your Wallet

BookShare doesn't charge your card or mobile banking account directly for each rental. Instead, you top up an in-app wallet balance, and rentals are paid for (or paid out) from that balance.

Adding Money

Reload your wallet any time from "My Reloads" in your dashboard. Payments are processed securely through our payment gateway, which supports major cards and mobile banking options.

Minimum Balance

You need to keep at least 500 tk in your wallet to send or accept a rental request. This acts as a security reserve so a rental payment can always be completed once a request is approved.

Renting a Book

A book's lending price is set per month by its owner. When you request a rental, you choose how many months to borrow it for (up to the owner's maximum); the total price is the monthly rate multiplied by that duration. The amount is deducted from your wallet once you confirm you've received the book.

Owner Payouts

For every completed rental, the owner receives 75% of the rental price; the remaining 25% is retained as BookShare's platform commission. Payouts are held until an admin releases them, then credited to the owner's wallet balance.

Withdrawing Your Balance

Owners can withdraw their wallet balance once payout details have been added and approved. Withdrawal requests are reviewed by an admin; the amount is deducted from your wallet immediately on request, and automatically refunded back if the request is rejected or later marked failed.

If Something Goes Wrong

See our Refund & Dispute Policy for how compensation works when a rental doesn't go as expected.
